Where’s the meatloaf?

As the day winds down, I take a moment to go through all the comment cards of the day to see what our guests have to say about their dining experience. I really enjoy reading the special comments written at the bottom of the card. When I come across a comment card about the menu, I always pass them along to the Chef.

Well, maybe it’s that time of year when the weather begins to cool down and people think of comfort food. Within the last week or so I’ve received a few comment cards and inquiries from guests asking servers “Where’s the meatloaf that use to be on the menu and if we plan on putting it back on the menu anytime soon?”

Years before I worked here I came in for lunch with a friend to see what Ponte was all about. I’m a foodie and love to cook. I usually never order something I can make myself, but I ordered the meatloaf. It was tasty, spicy and wrapped in bacon. Isn’t everything better with bacon! Everyone has their favorite meatloaf recipe, if we only had the time to make it, I concluded.

The Chef that originally created the meatloaf has moved on and so has the meatloaf. Menu trends change and so has the Restaurant at Ponte from the Smokehouse. Our focus is on local fresh organic ingredients that feature a menu with seasonal artisan dishes.
