The 2007 Fall Winemaker Dinner at Ponte Winery needs no frou-frou introduction or description. Just get a load of the menu:

Amuse Bouche

Appetizer:

Bleu cheese stuffed dried figs in a pancetta blanket with balsamic-red pepper “paint.” Paired with 2005 Zinfandel.

Appetizer:

Parsnip hummus on flatbread, red beet mousse on a yellow beet chip, souffle potato with carrot catsup, fried sweet potato garnish. Paired with 2005 Fiorella rose.

Salad:

Roast quail breast and accompanying confit, heirloom apple-fennel salad, basil oil. Paired with 2006 Graciela.

Soup:

Creamy cauliflower, black winter truffle. Paired with 2006 Pinot Grigio.

Intermizzo:

Pomegranate Moscato sparkler with pomegranate seeds & minted sugar rim.

Entree I:

New York steak “sandwich” with dry aged prime strip loin medallion, grilled brioche, mushrooms, peppers, onion custard and fennel aioli with root vegetable garnish. Paired with 2005 Super Tuscan.

Entree II:

Stuffed calamari with cinderella pumpkin filling, fried risotto croquette with sage, tomato bernaise. Paired with 2006 Chardonnay.

Dessert:

Caramel baby lady apple, chocolate panna cotta with chocolate risotto, lemon bundt. Paried with 2003 Zinfandel Port or 2006 Isabel.

The Fall Winemaker Dinner will take place on Friday, November 9th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $130 per person and $117 per Ponte wine club member.
