The first 12 days of December, Ponte will be featuring special bundled collections of wine and Marketplace goods that have been carefully selected to create truly delicious and unique gifts for those who are high on your “nice” list. But that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be a wonderful gift for you as well.

Bacon Bonanza

…my true love gave to me, Bacon! Really, is there anyone who isn’t instantly hungry by the aroma of frying bacon? For those who consider the meat its own food group, there is Bacon Bonanza, a collection of gourmet treats all made with, you guessed it, bacon. Included are one copy of “Seduced by Bacon” cookbook, one Flying Pig Bacon Chocolate Bar, one bottle of Bacon-Herb Vinaigrette Dressing, one Bacon Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix and one bottle of Ponte Beverino wine.

“Seduced by Bacon” is a collection of sumptuous recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, even dessert! If the Pecan Waffles with Caramel-Bacon Sauce doesn’t strike your fancy, perhaps the French Apple Tart with Cheddar Cheese Crust and Sweet Brittle Topping will. The Flying Pig bar is made of deep milk chocolate and filled with Hickory smoked uncured bacon and Alderwood smoked salt for the perfect sweet and savory indulgence. The Bacon-Herb Vinaigrette is a tangy infusion of bacon, herbs and garlic that is absolutely fabulous drizzled over a Cobb or spinach salad. Also try using it as a marinade for any kind of meat. With a name like “Bacon Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix” who needs to be convinced that this stuff is good? One simply needs to add butter, eggs and buttermilk to create a scrumptious breakfast…or dinner. Beverino is the perfect wine to tie all of these bacon treats together. Delicately sweet and very easy to drink with subtle boysenberry flavors, Beverino is delicious at room temperature or chilled and can complement an array of foods, from smoky bacon to rich, dark chocolate. Remember, the best way to “pig out” is with bacon. With wine, of course.
