The Ponte Vineyard Inn - A New Lodging Alternative

It has been a long time coming but we are finally ready to announce our next project at the winery. After more than two years of working with the County, our architects and partners, we’ve broken ground on our 60-room boutique hotel.

Designed using classic California Mission architecture, the hotel will be two stories to minimize its visual impact and maintain a close connection to the surrounding vineyards. In addition, the hotel will have many “green” features like water conservation and solar power in order to reduce our environmental footprint. However, our primary goal is to design a comfortable home away from home for your visits to the winery.

The current design features two wings surrounding an attractive garden and lovely pond. The garden area will have bar service during the day and an outdoor fireplace to enjoy a drink with your friends in the evening.

We are designing the lobby to be intimate and include a cozy living room with seating areas facing a fireplace. Off the patio will be a garden and small breakfast area, and when the weather is nice, you will be able to enjoy your breakfast outdoors.

Downstairs (yes, in the cellar!), we are building a lounge for those of you wanting a single malt whisky or a cognac after dinner. We hope to feature mellow live music on the weekends. Seating will be on comfy couches, fashionable banquettes along the wall or at the bar.

The guest rooms will be comfortably appointed with high end linens and amenities, quality ambient lighting, soundproofing and central air. There will be six mini suites and two presidential suites for those who would like a more upscale experience. Every room will have a private patio or balcony overlooking the vineyards. The bathrooms will have glass walled showers and plenty of counter space for those dressing for a special occasion.

Food will be available in the garden, on the verandas and, after 5pm, in the lounge. The menu will feature healthy, natural and seasonal delicacies and will be complementary to the Restaurant at Ponte. Although we don’t plan to offer room service, there will be a well-stocked sundry store to purchase snacks and sandwiches for guests arriving late. Needless to say the hotel will be staffed 24 hours.

As is the case with construction projects, some of these details may change. But one thing is for sure-you’ll wake up surrounded by the vineyards when you stay at the Ponte Vineyard Inn. Opening is expected around March 2012 and we hope to see you there!
