Spring Fever

Back in January we hosted a vertical tasting of our Malbec wines.  A vertical tasting is when you taste, side by side, several different vintages of the same wine varietal.  It’s an exciting way to smell and taste the variances of wines through the years.  The event was a hit!  With a new season upon us, we thought it would be fun to host another vertical tasting, only this time with Tempranillo.

On Sunday, March 9th, Ponte Wine Club Members will have the opportunity to taste all of our past and current vintages of Tempranillo at our Spring Fever event.  We are in love with this medium- to full-bodied red wine that makes a seamless transition from winter into spring with its mild tannins and red fruit flavors.  The grape reigns from Spain where it’s been making some of the best Rioja’s (among other wines) in the world for ages.  Relatively low in acid and sugar, the Tempranillo grape ripens several weeks earlier than many other varietals and maintains a rather neutral profile, making it ideal to blend with other wines.  On its own, though, Tempranillo makes a delicious red wine, perfect with Spanish cuisine, Mediterranean foods, salmon and meats.

At Spring Fever, Members will also enjoy live music, spicy samples of foods and discounts!  Bottles of Tempranillo will be 25% off while cases of the wine will be 30% off.  Bring your flamenco dress (ok, not really) and get ready for a fantastic day of sipping wine, eating and finding your inner Spaniard.

Spring Fever will take place on March 9th in the Ponte Wine Club Member Reserve Room from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Live music from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

This event is open to Ponte Wine Club Members and one guest only, please.  No reservations required.
