ReCork

Have you heard the news about ReCork? The ReCork program is designed to take our used cork and recycle them into innovative products. As members of the ReCork program we collect all of the corks from Ponte’s Tasting Room, Special Events Department and Restaurant and save them for pick up. Eventually these corks go on to various companies that recycle them into unique products. One such company is SOLE, a business that turns used corks into sustainable, high-quality sandals and shoes.

Here at Ponte, most of our wines are sealed with natural cork. Cork is 100% natural, biodegradable and recyclable. Natural cork can be recycled and turned into not only shoes, but flooring tiles, building insulation, automotive gaskets, craft materials, home office supplies, soil conditioner and sport equipment. Some of you might be even be collecting and displaying your wine corks in our cork cages!

The best part of the ReCork program is that you can participate too! Instead of throwing away your corks, stop by the winery and drop them off! The ReCork disposal station is located at the front of the Tasting Room. We look forward to seeing you and your corks soon, and of course helping us in our efforts to be more sustainable.
