When it comes to nature, beauty comes in a variety of colors, hues, shapes and textures. Winter in the vineyard brings its very own aesthetic and it’s stunning. The grapes have been picked, leaves have turned to brown and pruning begins. But don’t put away your camera yet. Winter is when we get some of our best shots on the property. No, we typically don’t get thick blankets of white snow, but rows and rows of rustic, knotty grapevines in front of mountain panoramas and textured skies make for a beautiful backdrop.
California winters are mild, making the Pond at Ponte Vineyard Inn a great spot to sit and gaze for a while – especially wrapped in a sweater and sipping a cup of hot cocoa or enjoying a glass of Port after dinner.
Don’t get us wrong, as Southern Californian’s we do love our sunshine and warm weather. However, we admit some things are just better when there’s a nip in the air…like this:
Dunking bread and tart apples into warm, bubbling Fontina cheese with fresh garlic and herbs. If this doesn’t warm you up, don’t worry, the heaters, roll down wind shades and friendly faces at The Restaurant will.
Wine Club Members can enjoy the views over glasses of exclusive Ponte wine at the Reserve Room patio.
And, you never know…while staying at Ponte Vineyard Inn, you just might wake up to something like this:
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time…
We look forward to welcoming you for a day or stay in the country this winter. Bring your cameras!
