New Release: 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

Did you read that right?  Did we just mention Cabernet Sauvignon?  Yes, friends, we know it’s been a long time (too long!) since the king of all red wines made an appearance at Ponte, but we are giddy with excitement to offer you this very special 2009 vintage.

Full bodied and bold, our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is full of robust aromas and flavors like black currant, plum, eucalyptus and oak.

Could we have released this extraordinary wine sooner?  Of course, and it would have been great.  But our winemaker wanted to show Members and guests what a harvest of Cabernet grapes could really do.  The wine was nurtured, aged to perfection and now stands ready for your finest meals.  We have found that it shines with dishes equally as daring like roast leg of lamb, black pepper-crusted pork loin or prime rib with horseradish.

This is one to be sipped and savored.  To experience this Cabernet at its best, serve the wine not chilled, not warm, but at room temperature, ideally anywhere between 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.  And, no, you don’t need a wine fridge to do this.  If you have a cool cellar or basement, store it there.  If not, just keep it in a dark, cool area of your home, out of direct sunlight.

We can’t wait to hear what you think about it!

–Is there a wine varietal you’d like to see again at Ponte?  Let us know!
