Throwing a Spooky Soiree is as easy as trick or treating and just as fun! This year, instead of my typical Harvest themed party, with pumpkin soup and raisin bread, I will be kicking it up a notch and going all out scary! Over the course of this week I’ll be highlighting a frighteningly fun menu that will leave your guests drooling for more. Let the party begin…

First Course: Witches Brew paired with our 2010 Pinot Grigio

Ingredients:

  • 2 16 oz. Bags of frozen peas
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 3 celery stocks, diced
  • 2 T butter
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • ½ pound bacon, diced

Preparation:

  • Melt butter and sauté onions, garlic and celery stock
  • Add frozen peas
  • Add chicken stock and bring to a boil
  • Simmer for 30 minutes
  • Puree soup in a blender
  • Cook bacon and crumble on top for garnish
  • Serve in margarita glasses

Don’t fly away on your broomstick just yet, stay tuned for the next recipe: Brains and Blood Meatballs.
