Dude, let us let you in on a little secret: a day spent in wine country isn’t just for the ladies. It’s also not just for couples. We get why you might think otherwise; we get a lot of groups of women who come out to taste and gab. We’re a sweet spot for brides and bridesmaids to gather for pre-wedding brunches. And, yeah, our Marketplace sells more frilly/girly items than it does cigars and fishing gear. Don’t be fooled; even if they’d never admit it, guys kinda dig Ponte, too.
Before you roll your eyes and think wineries are just a place that you’d go to only if your girlfriend or wife insisted, check out this list of guys who own wineries or vineyards. Granted, they’re owners, but still…
Johnny Depp – actor, musician, Jack Sparrow. You know you love him.
Joe Montana – Football legend. Responsible for 1981’s “The Catch.” ‘Nuf said.
Mario Andretti – World champion racecar driver. If you were ever a young American boy, you probably wanted to grow up and be him at some point.

See? Wine and manliness go hand in hand.
But don’t take it from us, check it out for yourselves this “Movember.” Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches (and beards) during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers. The goal of Movember is to “change the face of men’s health.” Why not put away your razor, get your buddies together, forego the usual hangout spot and head over to Ponte? Believe it or not, male bonding can be accomplished here.
Pick your poison, gentlemen.
A wine tasting session hosted by one of our lovely servers is an excellent way to start the day. Afterwards, have lunch at The Restaurant. Small plates swimming with vegetables? Nope. Think Steak Pies, bacon-wrapped meatloaf sandwiches, flatiron steaks with mashed potatoes and killer burgers. Take a tour of our property on our Vineyard Bus Tour where you’ll sample grapes right off the vine and taste wines straight from our giant oak aging cask. Later, regroup at The Cellar Lounge at Ponte Vineyard Inn, the only full cocktail bar in Temecula Wine Country.
Bottoms up, guys
There, you’ll find microbrews on tap, fine spirits, wines and sports on the t.v.’s. While you’re there, you can discuss Movember and what you guys can do as a group to raise awareness for your bro’s out there who are sick. If you’re lucky, someone will ask you guys what’s with all the facial hair. You’ll tell them about Movember, they’ll tell someone else and WHAM! A movement is born…all because you and your buddies came to Ponte. Now that’s an afternoon well spent. See you soon.
