Like Taking Candy from a Baby

I have yet to meet a parent who hasn’t “sampled” from their child’s Halloween candy bag. As a parent, it is your responsibility to ensure that none of the candy has been tampered with…and if that means a few Snickers Bars and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups disappear, so be it. Kids don’t need that much sugar anyway.

Well, whatever you tell yourself, I won’t fault you. Getting kids ready for Halloween is hard. You have to find costumes, dress them up for school and then again for trick-or-treating and try to keep them from eating the candy before they get home. But no matter how hard you may try, they still manage to sneak a piece or two and by the time you get home they are so hopped up on sugar that getting them to bed is a job unto itself. That is why, as you rifle through their candy bag at the end of the night, I recommend a little adult R&R.

Here are a few of my favorite candy-inspired pairings.

Nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger…or Sherry!
