2013 Holiday Reserve Zinfandel: Not just for winter

Magnums aren’t like ordinary bottles of wine. For one, they are twice the size, literally. Inside a 1.5 liter magnum bottle is the equivalent of two standard sized bottles of wine. Large, unexpected, a conversation-starter, festive, a statement-piece… these are some of the descriptions and statements we’ve heard floating around the winery to describe our Holiday Reserve Zinfandel magnums. The yearly release of these unique bottles has always occurred at the end of the year, during our December Wine Club shipment to coincide with what is arguably the most popular time to entertain guests. It makes sense, we think: with more people, you need more wine!

Quite literally two bottles in one!

Plus, the magnum bottle looks great on any decorated dinner table. With our last vintage of Zinfandel, our fruit produced enough wine to have plenty more than what we needed for our shipment. In fact, we still have some of this amazing vintage left. Adored with a winter-white and serene piece of art reminiscent of the crisp winter holiday season, our bottles of 2013 Holiday Reserve Zinfandel certainly don’t exactly scream “summertime”. No matter, we’ll just celebrate Christmas in July!

Looking for  an extra special “holiday” treat? You’re in luck! We have released a limited quantity of our 2010 Holiday Reserve Zinfandel and 2012 Holiday Reserve Zinfandel as well. Now it’s really starting to look a lot like Christmas!

This month, from July 15th through July 31st, we are celebrating this unofficial holiday with a 30% off sale on all of our vintages of Holiday Reserve Zinfandel for Wine Club Members! Visit our Online Store or Tasting Room to take advantage of seasonal savings for our 2010, 2012 and 2013 vintages of Zinfandel Magnums.

Despite the holiday elements and wintery white label, Zinfandel is not only suitable for the chilly winter weather, but makes a great wine to serve at your summer barbeques and cookouts. Full bodied and bold, it works beautifully with such summer hits as pork ribs, steaks, hamburgers (really, any meat) and grilled pizzas. Another good option is to stock up now for this year’s holiday season but remember to save room on your shelf for this December’s release of Zinfandel.  The hardest part will be setting the bottles aside and waiting a full five months to open them! Store your bottles in a cool, dark place or in a temperature regulated wine fridge.
