From Argentina With Love

Right now in Argentina it’s summer.  And today, January 6th, many Argentinians are celebrating Epiphany, or Three Wise Men Day.  According to tradition, the Three Kings (yep, those fellas from the Nativity) receive letters from children and bring them gifts the night before Ephiphany.  In return, the kiddos prepare a drink for each of the Kings and also food and drink for the camels they arrive on – much like our own Santa and his reindeer tradition.  I’ve got an Argentinian friend who celebrated Epiphany growing up; her family left plates of cured meats and cheeses and glasses of whiskey for the Kings!

Meanwhile, we in America are buttoning up our coats and taking down our Christmas decorations…but we’re about to do some Argentinian celebrating of our own.  This Sunday, January 12th, we will be hosting a very special tasting of all (yes, all!) our previously released vintages of Malbec! This “vertical tasting” will give Ponte Wine Club Members the opportunity to taste (in order of release) our 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Malbecs to experience how the wine has evolved.  Sure, we’ve described our Malbecs of having notes of plum, blackberries and pepper, but now you can really examine the differences for yourselves.  In addition, Members will receive 30% off cases of Malbec and 25% off bottles.

We don’t host tastings like this very often so we hope you can come out and join us for this special event.  We’ll be at it all day – from 11 am to 4:30 pm in the Wine Club Member Reserve Room.  Members, by all means, bring a friend!

No reservations required.  This event is open to Ponte Wine Club Members and one guest only, please.
