Dads who golf get golf stuff for Father’s Day.  Dads who grill get grill stuff for Father’s Day.  And dads who like wine get…you get the picture.  This Father’s Day, why not treat your dad who likes wine to one-of-a-kind, limited production, boutique wine from Ponte?  Only available in our Tasting Room and Online Store, Ponte wines are made with the utmost care from only the best grapes in Temecula Valley.  We make our wines fruit-forward and, although a number of our wines will develop great character with age, they are always released ready to uncork and enjoy immediately.

For the upcoming holiday (June 15th, folks) we have a couple of wine suggestions that we created with dads in mind.  We think he and the whole family will enjoy these special wine picks that pair perfectly with his favorite foods…which, of course, he will get on Father’s Day!

Father’s Day Duo wine flight: Ponte Syrah is a classic red wine with bold flavors of ripe plums, dried herbs and spice.  It is an ideal wine for barbeque favorites and grilled steak.  Also included is Ponte’s award-winning Vermentino.  It is a mouth-watering white wine that refreshes even on the hottest day.   Bright and crisp, Vermentino tastes of passion fruit and white peaches and is fabulous with potato and macaroni salads.  Purchase Father’s Day Duo here.

Great For Grillin’wine flight: What father doesn’t adore his grill?  And what father doesn’t enjoy showing off his grilling chops any chance he can get?  This trio of red wine will compliment anything he creates.  Meritage is a red blended wine that is so delicious, you and dad might finish the bottle before dinner is ready.  A combination of five varietals, Meritage tastes of red plums and vanilla and is great with tri-tip.  Barbera is lighter in body than Meritage but just as flavorful.  With blackberry, plum and oak flavors, it is very food-friendly and fantastic with a pre-dinner platter of salty cheeses.  Serve it with creamy sauces, tomato based dishes and citrus-grilled chicken.  Finally, Tempranillo makes an appearance in the Great for Grillin’ wine flight.  Medium-bodied with black cherry and blackberry notes, Tempranillo is what you’ll want to serve with grilled pizza and hamburgers.  Purchase Great for Grillin’ here.
