Double Duty Vendors

When planning a Wedding, brides often find that it is hard to factor in everything that they are imagining and wanting for their big day while staying within budget.  Those extra little elements such as draping, lighting, photo booths, etc. sometimes have to get cut because the additional vendor’s fees just don’t fit within the wedding budget.  But what if there was a cost effective way to add them?  A lot of vendors have broadened their services to include multiple items.  Not only is this more convenient for the bride because she will have one less vendor to coordinate with, but often the combination of services results in pricing that is more cost effective as well!

If you are envisioning draping in your reception space or a chandelier addition to your ceremony arbor, it is a great idea to consult your current or potential florist.  Many florists also have inventory of rentable items such as lanterns or chandeliers, and some have even added draping options to their packages.  This is helpful because florists are usually the most creative of your vendors so they will be able to suggest the most flattering options for your various spaces.

DJ’s that provide colored uplights or additional lighting services are great options as well.  Like florists, many DJs have added rentable lighting options that are often combined in the various packages that they offer.  This is a great, cost effective way to add a little ambience to the reception space without having to find another reputable lighting or production vendor with lighting options that would have to factor in their own travel and staffing costs.

Recently, photo booths have become a fun, popular addition to wedding celebrations.  Vendors have noticed this, and I often see that photo booth services can sometimes be added through your photographer (as well as videography!).  I have also seen some fun DJs who provide the service as well!

Combining services through one of your main vendors is a great way to try and consolidate contacts and perhaps find preferential pricing.  If you are interested in adding additional elements such as draping, special decorational items, additional lighting, photo booths, or videography, I recommend asking your current or potential vendors if they provide multiple services first before looking into hiring separate vendors.
