Bring the Guests to Ponte

It’s a big time of year for out-of-town guests.  With just about one week left until Christmas, all of you hosts are probably sprucing up your homes; digging out the spare comforters and breaking the news to little Johnny that he’ll be sleeping on the couch for a few nights.  And, of course, there is excitement in the air!  There is no doubt you haven’t seen your guests in a while and there will be a lot of catching up to do, preferably over many bottles of wine!

At some point, though, you all will need to get out of the house, for the sake of sanity or for just a change of scenery.  Ponte is the perfect place to spend the day.

Taste Wine

It’s the perfect time to choose your Christmas dinner wines!  We’re partial to the 1.5 liter bottle of 2010 Holiday Reserve Zinfandel, but you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for once you taste your favorite.  Don’t forget to pick up some sparkling Moscato for New Year’s Eve!

Take a Tour

Wow your guests by scheduling a tour of the entire property, where you’ll see the winemaking facilities, Ponte Vineyard Inn and the vineyards.  Tour times vary throughout the week and on some days we require an appointment, so be sure to check here before arriving

Eat

Show up in the a.m. and treat yourself to lemon beignets and fresh watermelon juice, or a garden green omelet with organic French press coffee at Bouquet Restaurant.  Not an early bird?  No problem, instead, join us for lunch at the award-winning Restaurant at Ponte Winery for farm-fresh, local salads, pastas, pizzas and sustainable meat and fish.

Shop

Did Aunt Betty forget someone on her Christmas list again?  She’ll be delighted at the array of gift items she’ll find in our Marketplace.  Our unique selection of home décor, gourmet food and wine accessory items impress even the most seasoned of shoppers.

Have a Cocktail

After a long day out, take the edge off at The Cellar Lounge, right next door at Ponte Vineyard Inn.  Enjoy one of our newest seasonal cocktails, like The Zurich made with Godiva white chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps and Ponte Zinfandel Port.  Or warm up with The Vermont: Organic Italian roast coffee with Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, maple and Bailey’s Irish Cream.

Don’t be surprised if your guests show a sudden interest in making more frequent trips to Southern California!
