I’ve never been a Black Friday shopper. I did try it one year, about four years ago…
A certain, unnamed store had been advertising $8 appliances for the day after Thanksgiving. Among them, a coffee pot (which I was in need of) and a waffle maker (which I’d always wanted). At $8 apiece it was too good an opportunity to pass up, so I woke up at 5 am and made it to the mall by 6. I assumed everyone would be at other stores, so I’d be able to stroll in and roll out. Not so much. The store was packed. When I finally located the appliance department, the swarm had already annihilated the $8 goods with not a single coffee pot or waffle maker left. This was a mere 20 minutes after the store had opened its doors. Irritated that I woke up when it was still dark for nothing, I went home, never to return to Black Friday shopping events.
Sip While You Shop…
Is heading out for Christmas shopping on Black Friday even necessary now that you can find most deals online? No, but sometimes it is more fun to browse… Especially when you can sip while you shop! Case in point: The Ponte Winery Tasting Room! This is one store I’d get up for… mostly because they don’t open at the crack of dawn! (And did I mention sipping wine?)

We don’t do many sales throughout the year, but even we get in on the Black Friday action.
