The first time I had heard of a vertical tasting, I was intrigued. I had no grasp of what the term itself meant but I knew it involved wine, therefore it had to be fun right?
A vertical tasting simply consists of tasting different vintages from one wine varietal side by side. This can be done youngest to oldest or vice versa. In doing so, you can experience the variances in each year of grapes, including anything that may have influenced the wine, such as the weather, soil conditions, etc. With so many factors affecting winemaking, you may notice subtle differences in each vintage of the same wine. Which vintage has been your favorite thus far?
Wine Club Members, join us Sunday, January 12th from 11am to 4:30pm in our Members Only Reserve Room for a vertical tasting of all previously released vintages of our beloved Malbec! Taste how this wine has evolved over four years from 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. You may also sample some of our favorite vendors’ treats and shop for bottles or cases of your favorite vintages! All bottles of Malbec will be featured at 25% off and cases will be featured at 30% off for Members. We look forward to seeing you!
Wine Club Members and one guest only, please.
