A Gift That Keeps On Giving

We are always thrilled when one of our Wine Club Members shares with us how they enjoy our wines.  We’ve received emails of how Members use a certain wine in a recipe, about the creative ways they re-use their empty bottles, even how they have traveled with their favorite varietal.

Recently, Wine Club Member Michael Beckman came in to do some wine tasting. He and his server struck up a conversation about how he’d recently given multiple bottles of Zinfandel Port to his nephew and his wife as a wedding gift.  Not only that, he had each bottle engraved with their names, and the date of their wedding anniversary every ten years until their 50th.  The idea is for them to open one bottle on their 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th anniversary!  Michaels’ nephew and his wife will be opening their final bottle of our 2008 Zinfandel Port on July 21, 2062…isn’t that awesome?  The photos you see are ones that Michael was kind enough to share with us.

Although you might not have had the coolest uncle in the world give you such a gift at your wedding, we think this is a great idea for yourself as well.  Choose your own favorite Ponte wine, have the bottles engraved or not, and save them for milestone events like anniversaries or birthdays.  Just be sure to keep them cool and out of the sunlight!

Thank you, Michael, for sharing!  This is definitely one of our favorites.

–If you chose a Ponte wine to open every 10 years for 50 years, which one would it be?
