Did you know that April is National Child Abuse Prevention month?
There’s nothing more important to me than children. I’ve been an assistant dance teacher since I was 12 and a dance teacher since I was 17, so when it comes to kids I have a soft spot. I couldn’t even begin to tell you how important Child Abuse Prevention is.
Ponte, for sure, has a soft spot for helping kids in need as well. Since the winery opened we have strived to support and help charitable contributions on local organizations that are working to end suffering in our community. One of the organizations that we support is Rancho Damacitas.
Rancho Damacitas is located in Temecula and provides quality, long-term care and treatment for children who are in need of out-of-home services. They help children ages 6 to 18 years old who suffer from mental, physical and sexual abuse, who are taken out of their home by Social Services or Child Protective Services. These children are then placed in the care of live-in home parents and enter into programs that help them stabilize, build skills and mend. The mission at Rancho Damacitas is to address specific treatments for each individual child to prepare them for a lower level of residential care, foster care or be able to successfully reunite them with their natural family.
