A Little Wine Left Over

A little wine left over? No problem.

This does not happen often around my friends and family but every once in a while a meal is ended with a little wine left over. Alas, I put the beloved Super T in the fridge for a couple days and never get around to enjoying it. I would never want to waste a bottle of wine, even if only an ounce was left, so I had to find the perfect solution and I came across wine ice cubes. I know, I know you are thinking it sounds crazy but let me explain how it works and what you can do with these wine ice cubes.

Once a bottle of wine has sat open for a couple more days than it should have, pour the remaining wine into ice cube trays. Place the ice cube tray in a safe spot in the freezer and let freeze. Easy enough, right? Once the wine cubes have frozen, they are ready to use!

The perfect touch to almost any party, the wine cubes can replace ice in the Ponte Sangria rather than ice (made with water) which can water down your Sangira. It can also make for the cold touch to the popular Beverino as the wine cubes can be made with any wine. Don’t like your wine chilled? These wine cubes are also a nice way to start out a homemade marinara sauce or soup. Just take out a wine cube or two and add it to the start of your sauce to your liking! If you don’t plan on using the wine cubes right away, put them in a zip lock bag to use at your leisure.

Enjoy and here’s to enjoying every last drop of wine!
